Rob Wood began his career in the building trades in 1971. Over that 40+ year span he’s had experience as a framing and finishing carpenter, flooring contractor, and in other building trades. He retired as a general contractor in 2004. Subsequently Rob was hired by a major Canadian home improvement retailer to be their “How-to Guy”, giving workshops and demonstrations to staff and customers on the practical “how-to’s” for everything from finishing a basement, building fences and decks, remodelling kitchens and bathrooms, plumbing, roofing, and laying all manner of floors.
Becoming a home inspector was a natural fit with Rob’s skills and experience. He graduated with high honours from the Sheridan College Home Inspection Training Program in 2012. Enrolment in continuing education courses ensures Rob is up-to-date with current building codes and home building trends.
Rob’s experience as a contractor, instructor (and a home-owner himself), means that he is uniquely equipped to help both home buyers and sellers understand the proper functioning of systems and components, from roof to basement, and everything in between, for the safety, maintenance, and enjoyment of the property.
